This document serves as
the official policy on event exposure, sponsors and addresses the
issue of private sponsors and ambush marketing.
The official name of the event is the HANSA FISH CANOE MARATHON.
1. The TITLE Sponsors of the event is HANSA PILSENER
2. Secondary sponsors of the event can and will be agreed to by the
FISH CANOE MARATHON COMMITTEE, under the auspices of the Cradock
3. Clubs, private sponsors, club sponsors and team sponsors will NOT
be allowed to do any of the following:
a. Should the sponsor be in conflict with the title sponsor, HANSA,
branding of paddlers and boats can only be done as per Canoeing
South Africa’s rules and regulations.
b. The distribution of flyers, shirts, caps and any other
promotional material is STRICTLY PROHIBITED during the HANSA FISH
CANOE MARATHON, unless written approval has been given by the Fish
4. Should a club or private sponsor wish to setup a club
stand/gazebo at either of the finishes, the process to follow would
a. Contact the race committee and detail the name of the
club/sponsor and what kind of infrastructure you are looking to put
b. The committee will consider and may allocate a secondary location
at each of the start/finishes based on the application details.
5. Please note that any kind of brand activation or marketing that
does not fit in with the abovementioned rules and regulations of the
event will be dealt with severely at the event. Any club/sponsor
found contravening these rules will result in their paddlers
receiving IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.
